Early Years

FSB’s Early Years nurtures growth with play-based learning and the British EYFS curriculum.

FSB’s Early Years
program

The first few years of your child’s education are essential for their future as he or she moves into more formal schooling and then adult life beyond. It is vital therefore to get those first few years right.

The First Steps curriculum caters to children in Pre-Nursery (16 months+), Nursery (2-3 years old), FS2  (3-4 years old) and FS3 (4-5 years old). We are renowned for providing a nurturing learning environment for young children. We believe that an outstanding Early Years education lays the foundation for everything that follows and make it a priority to care for each individual child, nurturing their unique blend of talents and abilities.

British Early Years Foundation Stage

We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) currently being taught in all Early Years settings in the UK. Our well-balanced, carefully-planned curriculum will enable your child to progress towards Primary School.

Nurturing the Hearts, Educating the Minds

Work is planned through multiple areas of learning, which help them to develop a positive sense of themselves and of others, respect for others, social skills and a positive disposition to learn. We also develop children’s understanding of literacy and maths in a broad range of contexts in which they can explore, enjoy, learn, practise and talk about their developing understanding. We support children in helping them to make sense of the world through offering opportunities for them to use a range of tools safely; encounter creatures, people, plants and objects in their natural environments, while also extend children’s creativity by supporting their curiosity, exploration and play.

Played-based Learning

Almost all of our activities are based on structured play and exploring which allow the children to develop their essential skills and progress at their own speed. Play-based learning also ensures wide-ranging and first hand experiences for all based on a child's interests and needs. Learning is carefully differentiated to cater for individual needs as we aim for children to develop their independence and confidence alongside personal, social and academic progress. Praise is given to celebrate successes and support provided in areas for development.

All our Early Years classes follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) which is based on the best practice from the UK with a strong focus on learning through play.

Principled Approach

At FSB, we believe in being present in the moment of learning rather than spending excessive time documenting observations. Our focus is on capturing authentic learning experiences while actively engaging with our children, ensuring they receive the attention and support they deserve.
